ONE ARRANGED
MURDER
NAME OF BOOK: ONE
ARRANGED MURDER
AUTHOR: CHETAN
BHAGAT
LANGUAGE: ENGLISH
Genre: Fiction
Publisher: Westland
The novel begins
with a discussion between Keshav and Saurabh. They had disagreements and then
started talking face to face when Keshav made fun of Saurabh and his fiancée,
Prerna. Keshav saw that Saurabh had changed as a result of Prerna.
Saurabh and Prerna met on a dating website. They fell in love after meeting, particularly Saurabh. He fell in love with Prerna and desired her after meeting her. Prerna later expressed an interest in meeting him as well. They got engaged. Both were satisfied and were constantly conversing with one another. But their lives were supposed to change in a few days.
On Karva Chauth, she fasted for him. She hadn't eaten anything all day. She called him in the evening and sat on the terrace, waiting for the moon and Saurabh to break her fast. Saurabh ran up the three-story house's steps, incredibly happy. But when he arrived at the terrace, he didn't see her; he called and texted her, but she didn't respond. He called her, but she didn't answer. When he got close and looked down from the terrace, he spotted her dead body.
The whole plot centers around the question of who murdered her and why. What had occurred? Was it a mishap or a murder? Whether she was murdered, who was the murderer and what was the motive? How did she die?
Since solving their first crime and establishing an enforcement firm, Saurabh and keshav both become entangled in another mystery, this time trying to ruin their friendship. Saurabh was about to marry his dream lady, Prerna, in an arranged marriage. There was some cheesy romance between the two as she wanted to hold Karwa Chauth for him before their wedding, but tragedy had already struck by the time Saurabh arrived on the terrace to break her fast. The next turn of events totally transforms his life when he discovers his fiancée dead under suspicious circumstances, reopening the best friends' detective minds once more, this time with some usual suspects.
While it is a sequel, apart from the two characters, the books are unrelated, so you can read it even though you haven't read the previous one. In terms of the plot, it manages to keep the excitement rising throughout the novel, i.e. you will keep wondering and will not get bored, as many readers do with Chetan Bhagat's books. The writing style is quick, plain, witty, and humorous in between some intense dramatic scenes of a Punjabi joint family, and even if you arenot an Indian, you would be easily able to relate to any drama unfolding.

One Arranged Murder: Chetan Bhagat |
Otherwise, it was a fast-paced, one-sitting book of wretched mystery and thrill with the flavor of a high melodramatic family where everybody is a suspect and has a reason for killing her, and it was thrilling to see how the mystery unfolded itself. The book is intended for one-time reading, and readers will enjoy it. It's similar to watching a movie.
